Loanmhor

Loanmhor is a detached house on the Isle of Arran, set back from the coast in open countryside where seals regularly appear on the local beach. The property sits on the southern part of the island, reached by a rough track, with Kildonan village three miles away. A single step leads into the ground floor, which contains the main living spaces: a large kitchen and dining room, a sitting room with a woodburner, and a sun room that opens onto a decked garden area overlooking fields. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, both with their own shower rooms.

Four bedrooms sleep ten guests in total. Three rooms have king beds and ensuite showers; the fourth has a single bed and a pull-out single, with a family bathroom on that floor as well. The ground-floor bedroom is also a king with its own shower room, useful for anyone with mobility considerations. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher and washing machine among the appliances. Initial fuel for the woodburner, bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. The enclosed garden has lawn and patio space, and parking for four cars is on site. One small dog is welcome. No smoking inside the property.

Kildonan has a hotel serving food and drinks; Whiting Bay, six miles away, offers a golf club, shops, restaurants and a beachside children's play park. The property suits families and larger groups looking for a rural base without leaving easy reach of village amenities.
