What a brilliant little museum. Went for 'May the Toys be with you' exhibition but had a look around everything. Wonderfully curated with passionate and engaging staff.

Was a lovely museum, reasonable priced. Loads of interactive things for the kids to do. Recommend if your spending time in the castle or gardens to not over look the little gem. Staff are so friendly and very informative.

Excellent little museum outlining lots of aspects of Alnwick and the surrounding area. Interesting exhibits and regular programme of special exhibitions on the upper floor. The ground and lower floors were dog friendly so that. Very reasonably priced and recommended

I visited the “May The Toys Be With You” exhibition at Bailiffgate Museum and honestly, it was incredibly disappointing. As someone who went with genuine Star Wars enthusiasts—people who collect vintage toys and understand rarity, variants, and the history behind them—this exhibition falls miles short of what it claims to be. It’s advertised as showcasing one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars memorabilia, but what’s actually on display is sparse, underwhelming, and lacking any real significance. Even the promotional wording is misleading. Phrases like “from X-Wing fighters to lightsabers” set a clear expectation—yet there were no X-Wings and no lightsabers on display. That alone says a lot about how little there actually is to see. There is very little depth or quality to the items presented. For a franchise with such a rich collecting history, this feels like a token display rather than a serious exhibition. You can walk around it in literally two minutes (and the word literally is used accurately) and leave wondering what exactly you’ve paid for. The £6 entry fee might sound modest, but for what you get, it feels completely unjustified. It’s simply not worth the money. If you are a serious fan, collector, or even just expecting something remotely impressive—save your money. This is not a “must-see.” It’s a very poor representation of what should have been a fantastic exhibition. A real missed opportunity.
