The Admirals House Fisher occupies the second floor of a period building positioned on Ilfracombe's working harbour. From the living room and bedroom, you look out over the water where fishing boats land their catch and the RNLI lifeboat station operates nearby. The apartment itself contains a double bedroom, bathroom with shower over the bath, and a living space with kitchen area; everything needed for two people is provided, including bed linen, towels and wifi. Parking is on the road outside, or use the public car park 50 yards away.
The location sits central to Ilfracombe's facilities—pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes are within a few minutes' walk. The coastal path begins at the front door, leading towards Hillsborough Nature Reserve and smaller coves. Hele beach is nearby for a quick visit. From the harbour itself, Lundy Island ferry trips run in summer, and local boats offer fishing and cruises. The Landmark Theatre is a five-minute walk away. For a wider area, Croyde and Woolacombe's surf beaches, Exmoor's villages, Lynton's Victorian cliff railway and numerous National Trust properties are all within short drives.
No smoking in the property. The building has steep steps and unfenced slopes in its garden area, which is shared with other on-site apartments.

This was our 2nd time staying in Hornblower at Admiral's House and we loved it. The apartment has stunning views over the harbour and is in a great location situated in the heart of Ilfracombe. The apartment is spacious and well equipped with a useful guide of everything local. It is also spotless and very comfy. Deb is an amazing host, super friendly and looks after everyone so very well. We hope to visit again soon and highly recommend.

We are now booking our third trip. Debs and Al are great. If there is any problem they go out of their way to rectify. It’s an old building and we appreciate it as such. It requires a lot of expense and upkeep by them, and they do their very best. Saying that the location and views cannot be beaten. We love it.

We had stayed in the Hornblower apartment previously but were disappointed on this ocassion. The breakfast bar was wobbly, the windows hard to open, the table was covered in thick dirt that had to be scrubbed off and the sofa had black, greasy hand marks on the arms which we covered with the bedspread. When I made a review on Cottages.com website it was 'partially' removed...ie all of the bad stuff! I shan't use Cottages.com again nor return to The Admirals House

The Admirals house is beautifully decorated and has amazing views over the harbour. The hosts are so friendly and very accommodating.....nothing is too much for them. We stayed in 'fisher' then moved to 'jellicoe' as we wanted to stay longer. I would have no hesitation in recommending this house and hosts to future holidaymakers.
