Gable End Cottage

On the edge of moorland in North Yorkshire, Gable End Cottage sits among working farmland where Swaledale and Cheviot sheep graze. The North York Moors National Park spreads around it, making this a genuine base for walking, cycling and exploring the region's market towns and villages rather than a retreat from them.

The cottage itself is a converted farmhouse with two storeys of bedrooms. Downstairs is a single open-plan room combining living, dining and kitchen space, with a wood burner, Smart TV with Freesat, and a full kitchen including dishwasher and tumble dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king bed, the other with zip-and-link single beds that convert to a super king. The bathroom has both bath and shower. Essentials are covered—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, as are logs for the wood burner. One pet stays free. There is parking for two cars on site and an enclosed garden with seating.

The cottage suits families, friends and couples who want to walk or cycle from the door, or use it as a staging post for exploring the moors. No smoking inside.
