Granary Farm Cottages - Grain End
North Yorkshire
View on Google MapsPhoto: Granary Farm Cottages
Grain End is a detached cottage on the grounds of Granary Farm, positioned within a acre of landscaped gardens on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. The building itself is characterful—exposed beams, a wood burner, and an open-plan ground floor that flows between living space, dining area and kitchen. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and en-suite bath, the other with two singles and a shower room. Both floors have independent heating, and logs for the wood burner are provided.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and full-size fridge. A shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available for guests. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; there's ample parking on site and a private seating area with garden furniture and barbecue access. The property accommodates four people and is yours alone.
Walking and cycling trails begin at the doorstep into woodland and forest. The surrounding area draws bird watchers, particularly near the Raptor View Point a short drive away, and those interested in dark-sky stargazing. Scarborough, Whitby and York are all within reach by car, as are the market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering, which has a heritage steam railway. A pub sits a mile away and shops are three miles distant. Note that there is a fenced pond 70 yards from the cottage, and the internal stairs are steep and narrow.

Idyllic. Remote but accessible and with abundantly generous hosts this is a wonderful place in a cracking part of the world. Walks, wildlife and plenty of wind! Thoroughly enjoyed our visit - we’ll be back!

We spent a lovely week in wheatsheath cottage in July, it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, within beautiful grounds. I would not hesitate to recommend these cottages, a great place to stay
