North Yorkshire

Haydock Cottage sits within Scalby Lodge, a collection of fifteen cottages perched on cliffs near Scarborough. The setting puts you within reach of the Heritage Coast's dramatic walking routes and the North York Moors National Park inland. Whitby and its steam railway are a thirty-minute drive away, while local attractions include the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs and Scarborough's Open Air Theatre.

The cottage sleeps four across three bedrooms: a king-size with ensuite shower on the first floor, and two singles sharing a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, the open-plan living and dining space has a woodburner and French doors opening onto an enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; pets stay free if you bring one dog.

The wider site offers a games room with pool table and a selection of books, DVDs and toys, plus a children's play area. You have your own private parking. No smoking is permitted inside.

Stunning location, great views, good to get away from everything Park and Pool Room/games for kids too but more ideal for an Adults break.

This was a good place to stay. A few issues seating areas outside very very basic. Barbecue area was a waste of time if you are spending £3,000 for a week you expect better. I'm trying to think if what good about the inside made up for the outside, don't know if it did for the price

Our 4th visit here now. Lovely experience every time. Immaculately clean, beautiful welcome pack, very comfortable furniture, amazing views. My only gripe is that check out is 9.30 am (check in is 4pm). This is very early for a family of 8, especially compared to other holiday accommodations.
