A thoroughly renovated semi-detached cottage, The Hideaway sits in the quiet village of Hawsker, within reach of the North York Moors. The interior has been recently upgraded with careful attention to comfort: downstairs holds an open-plan living and dining space with a working kitchen, while upstairs a galleried bedroom with a double bed (4ft 6in) and ensuite bathroom make up the rest of the layout. One guest plus a companion, or you and a dog, will find this place fits well.
The essentials—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi—come as standard. An enclosed garden gives dogs a space to move freely, and there's a barbecue if you want to cook outside. Bike storage is provided for exploring the disused railway line that runs between Whitby and Scarborough; Hawsker itself has a local pub serving food. Whitby is a short drive away, with its clifftop abbey and regular boat trips, while Robin Hood's Bay—all cobbled streets and independent shops—lies three miles off. Smoking is not permitted inside.

A great family friendly, quiet, eco friendly, dark sky camping site. Small friendly, lovely site. Highly recommended. If you like to party and love loud music, this is not the place for you. The Hide away is a quiet site.

We stayed in Rufus's Roost for 4 nights. The treehouse is amazing and has everything you need for a great stay. We are 2 Adults and 2 children (teens) and there was plenty of room. Fantastic to sit in the hot tub looking at the views and enjoying the birdsong. All staff that we came into contact with were super friendly and helpful. We tried the pizza shack one night and the kids said it was the best pizza ever, and i have to agree! Highly recommend this location to everyone - and we have!

Just got back home from a 2 night stay here and wow what can I say, it was absolutely fantastic. Everything about the stay was exactly what we wanted for a 2 night escape from reality. The location was spot on, it was quiet and extremely well maintained. We stayed in one of the kabinas and it was perfect. It was lovely and clean and very well looked after. Everything you needed was inside the kabina, the hot tub was fantastic and secluded so you could relax and unwind. The pizza shack was definitely one of the highlights of the stay, its very rare you get such good quality food when staying on sites like this. The pizza was amazing, the sort of pizza you would pay £15-£20 for in big chain restaurants for half of that price. It was genuinely one of the best tasting pizzas we have ever had. The staff we encountered whilst we were there were fantastic and very friendly too. Overall, this place was fantastic and we didn't want to go home. I can almost guarantee that we will return in the future. If you have been looking into this place then book it. It definitely won't disappoint you.

A great campsite, really well located, with wonderful staff and superb and very clean facilities. We loved our stay and will be returning in the future. We camped but the site also has a selection of glamping options which looked brilliant. Baxby Manor was a great base for us to explore market towns, York and Botton Village.
