Maren Mill Apartment occupies part of a historic mill building near Belford, with direct access to the Northumberland coast. The apartment is yours alone for the duration of your stay, sleeping up to six across three bedrooms. A wet room downstairs and second bathroom upstairs mean the layout works well for groups or families who need flexibility; one bedroom has a double bed, another has a double, and the third contains a bunk bed. The open-plan kitchen and living space is generously proportioned, with enough room to cook proper meals or simply gather after time outside. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are provided.
You have private parking and access to shared gardens around the mill buildings. The coast lies within easy reach—Bamburgh and its castle are roughly three miles away, Seahouses (where boat trips to the Farne Islands depart) is nearby, and the shoreline itself offers long walks and wildlife spotting. A pub sits within a mile. Cycle routes, golf and Alnwick Castle with its gardens are all accessible from here. The setting is calm enough for a proper break, yet positioned to explore without fuss. No smoking indoors.

We stayed in the Millkeepers Cottage. It was a gorgeous property. Lovely big bedrooms, nice clean bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The games room at the top was a lovely bonus. Lovely outdoor space although it could be a bit treacherous going up the top if you've had a drink or two. The only thing missing was the Barbeque but we didn't have the best weather so it wasn't an issue.

Cottage one. Accommodation fairly spacious clean and tidy. However shower door in the downstairs bathroom broken and clearly not checked by the manager before renting out. Also smell of sewage at the front of the house and in the car park. I feel much more could be done with the rear of the property. Just gravel and rock no plants at all. When our week was up I forgot my phone charger and cable. Contacted the manager who paid lip service only. I get the feeling she does not give a damn about good service.

Stunning apartment, exceptionally clean and fully equipped with everything you need and more. Idyllic location for spotting wildlife on you doorstep, Badgers, Bats, Owls and Otters all in one place and all in one week - amazing. Owner/Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Although there were steps (13) up to The Gearings they were not steep at all and very manageable even though I have some mobility issues. Beach was 5 minutes away and scenic locations in both directions not too far. I would highly recommend staying at Spindlestone Mill and will definitely be returning. Look forward to seeing you soon and thank you for such a memorable holiday!
