Station Cottage occupies what was once the ticket office of a disused railway station at the edge of Falstone in Northumberland. The whole property is yours alone—a single-storey cottage where everything happens on the ground floor, from the bedroom with its double bed through to the shower room and an open-plan living space that combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas. Essentials including electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are covered, and oil central heating keeps the place warm. You get a patio with garden furniture and private parking on site.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering: electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washer-dryer mean you can cook proper meals or do laundry if you stay longer. The living area has a TV, DVD and CD player for quieter evenings. The patio, which once formed part of the railway platform, is where you might watch the local birdlife. A pub sits within a mile, and the cottage itself lies on the fringe of Kielder Forest—the sort of place built for couples seeking stillness. No smoking is permitted. Arrive after 15:00; departure is before 10:00.
