The Left Luggage Office

Falstone is a quiet village in rural Northumberland, sitting inside the International Dark Sky Park where light pollution is minimal enough to see thousands of stars on a clear night. The Left Luggage Office occupies what was once part of the old railway station, giving the place a modest historical character. The surrounding countryside opens out toward Kielder Water and the Pennines, with moorland and forest walks on the doorstep and a pub within a mile of the property.

The apartment is a compact, single-storey space with everything on one level. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed, a shower room with a walk-in shower, and an open-plan living area combining lounge, dining space and kitchen. The kitchen has electric cooking, a microwave, fridge and washing machine, so you can prepare meals or do laundry during your stay. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. An enclosed garden with furniture sits outside, and there is private parking for one car on site. No smoking is allowed inside.

The property sleeps two and is yours alone during your visit. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. The Dark Sky Park status means this is an exceptional spot for stargazing if you visit on a clear night; the Kielder Observatory, run by the local astronomical society, sits a short drive away on Black Fell near Kielder Village for those wanting guided viewing.
