About The Boe Rigg
Remote and dramatically sited in Northumberland National Park, The Boe Rigg delivers the full wild-camping experience without sacrificing creature comforts. Pitches spread across grass and hardstanding areas offer brilliant views over open moorland, while spotless facilities include newly refurbished washrooms with hot showers. The real bonus is the weekend café-bar, where hearty breakfasts and rotating evening menus—think wood-fired pizzas or salt-and-chili chicken—earn consistent praise at reasonable prices.
Staff are genuinely welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere that suits both seasoned campers and Duke of Edinburgh groups. You're ideally placed for walking and cycling straight from the tent, with Kielder's high ropes and watersports a short drive away, plus Hadrian's Wall and Alnwick Castle within 40 miles. Campfires are allowed (off the ground), and there's even electric car charging. The terrain can be uneven in places, but that's part of the charm at a site this refreshingly unspoilt.

What visitors say
We really enjoyed our weekend at Boe Rigg Campsite. It’s a lovely, clean and peaceful site with fantastic views, making it a great place to relax. The shower and toilet facilities were spotless and looked as though they’d been recently refurbished, which was a real plus. The owners were also very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The only slight downside was the bar and café opening hours, which seemed quite limited. Having stayed at smaller campsites over the years with a much livelier food offering, it would have been great if simple options such as loaded fries were available into the evening. Overall, though, we had a wonderful weekend and would happily recommend Boe Rigg Campsite to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in beautiful surroundings.

Very friendly and accomadating service. Wonderful views, showers are to die for ! Had breakfast from the onsite cafe , good quality ingredients cooked well. Would highly reccommend. We stopped just for one night on the way home from Scotland, definatly will be returning for longer.

Stunning views, very friendly staff. And lovely food from the cafe on site. We went camping during the England match and the campsite was quiet, even with the match on, the amenities are great and very clean can't recommend enough. Thank you for our stay.

Tremendous camping and motor home park. The location is so quiet and tranquil combined with excellent facilities and a lovely bar and restaurant which caps it off. Lovely views over the countryside and a little pond to watch the ducks while you have a pint The staff were lovely and helpful, we’ll definitely go back again.
