About Al Forno Restaurant & Inn

Saint Stephens Road sits among the streets of central Norwich, close enough to the cathedral and castle to explore both on foot, and it's here that Al Forno Restaurant & Inn combines a restaurant with adults-only accommodation. The setting is straightforwardly urban, with free on-site parking a useful bonus in a city centre location.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available, and the inn keeps a 24 hour reception for guests arriving at odd hours. There's a games room for downtime, free WiFi throughout, and breakfast served alongside the main restaurant, which forms the heart of the place. Being adults-only, it suits couples and groups looking for a quieter stay rather than a family break.

Beyond the inn itself, Norwich offers a pub and bar scene, other restaurants and eateries, entertainment, and a nearby golf course, all within reach for guests wanting to fill their days and evenings outside the hotel.

Lovely place but a few complaints. We were in a room with no windows which was fine but feel that being charged the same price as a room with windows was a bit unreasonable. Also the room above whoever was in there was very noisy and from 6 30 both mornings just walked around and floorboards were very squeaky. We then had to rush for breakfast as it was only between 7 30 and 9 which most places is on until 10. We also had to pay for breakfast even though rooms were a little expensive.

Food was very tasty and good portion size, however I would say the starters and drinks are quite overpriced. £10 for Calamari (3 rings and 2 pieces) and £5.50 for a glass bottle of water is quite extortionate. The mains were very great however, and I would suggest if you just order from there you will be very satisfied. The décor also very pleasant, as was the server

Perfect location for visiting Norwich City Centre. Rooms were huge, very clean, warm and brilliant shower. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and great quality. Parking was on site and free and only £6 the following day. We didn’t eat in the restaurant unfortunately as we had meetings in town but the menu and wine list looked great. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Norwich. Independent family owned and these places need help to work and stay alive, negative reviews because of minor issues don’t help anyone.

Do not go here, the owner is a sleazy menace. I went to park following the sign for all day parking. I got there and the owner came out, saying to just give him payment in cash, I don't have cash so offered to pay card in the restaurant or get cash and return. He begun getting aggressive, saying he wants to take my car keys and refusing to let me leave. This man is a danger, do not park here if you care about safety, especially if you are with women or children, he creates a sleazy, rough, dengerous atmosphere. I will be reporting this "cash only" situation to tax officials and warning anyone I can about parking here. PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE , DO NOT SUPPORT THE ACCOMODATION OR THE RESTURAUNT!!!!!
