About SugarBeat Eating House

Walk into one of the four rooms at SugarBeat Eating House and the details are immediately noticeable: air conditioning, a thoughtful touch of fresh milk, and the kind of clean, well-kept comfort that makes a short stay easy. With only four rooms, this is a small, personal set-up rather than a sprawling hotel, and it sits on Norwich Road in Norwich, Norfolk, within reach of Norwich Cathedral and Norwich Castle Museum.

Downstairs, the eating house side of the business does much of the heavy lifting. Expect a proper breakfast to start the day, plus roasts and pizzas with a good number of vegan options on the menu. There's a bar for something before or after dinner, and free WiFi, a garden, luggage storage and meeting rooms round out the practical offer. Staff are attentive and the overall experience is generally reckoned to be good value for what you pay.

Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, useful given the central Norwich location and the ease of exploring the cathedral and castle museum on foot once you've settled in.

We hosted a 40th birthday party at the venue and it was a perfect location. The management team enabled the whole experience from start to finish to be nothing but enjoyable. Planning and organising was easy with clear communication and advice on options (food and drink packages). The venue was perfect with the band playing in the marquee and guests being able use the outside bar area. The staff were fantastic during the party also. Great service with a friendly approach. We stayed the night of the party and had three of the four rooms. All were clean, comfortable and spacious. All round brilliant evening at a brilliant location.

We recently had both our wedding and reception in the marquee at The SugarBeat Eating House, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day. From the very beginning, Stevie was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to help us throughout the entire process, assisting with timings, set-up, and even helping with the pull-down of decorations afterwards. His experience, attention to detail, and calm approach made the whole day run seamlessly and took so much stress away from us. We chose the BBQ menu for our wedding food. The food was absolutely delicious, and our guests are still talking about it. One fantastic suggestion from Stevie was to offer freshly cooked pizzas later in the evening for our additional guests. These were cooked to order in the outdoor pizza oven and went down an absolute storm. The venue itself was beautiful, and everything was exactly as we had imagined. So many of our guests commented on how lovely The SugarBeat was and what a fantastic setting it provided for both the wedding and reception. We would also like to thank all of the staff, who were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire day and evening. Nothing was too much trouble, and they played a huge part in making our wedding so special. Thank you, Stevie, and the whole team at The SugarBeat Eating House, for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. We would highly recommend The SugarBeat to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding venue with exceptional food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely cares about making your day perfect.

Had our wedding here at the beginning of July. We had the first meeting with Stevie in January of this year and immediately knew this was the place. Stevie has been amazing throughout the whole planning process and absolutely wonderful during the event. He volunteered to give lifts to some of our elderly guests whose taxis did not show up. He gave me a quick pep talk when I felt overwhelmed the day before. The entire team that was working that weekend, from the room cleaner to the barkeepers, servers, and chefs did an absolutely amazing job. There was a very relaxed and fun atmosphere between the employees and many of our guests commented about how kind, helpful, and efficient everyone was. The venue itself was great too, lots of space for everyone to spread out as it was a hot day. Children had loads of space to run around and play games, there was plenty of seating and room to dance. When the evening started winding down, the SugarBeat team started packing all our things up in boxes making the tidy up incredibly easy too. All in all, we had a wonderful wedding day and would highly recommend anyone who is looking for good food, a great atmosphere, and a relaxing celebration to check out the SugarBeat Eating House.

Arrived on Father's day for a 1 night stay with breakfast. I booked a table for evening meal in advance. We received a lovely welcome on arrival. The room was of good size, very clean and a comfy bed. A nice addition was the fridge with fresh milk and water. It was the start of the hottest week of the year so the super quiet air-conditioning unit was invaluable. The grounds are lovely well kept with lots of flowers in pots, a great patio, outdoor service area in a beautful location. We chose the roast for our evening meal. It was delicious. Plenty of meat and a lovely medley of veg. The staff apologised about the glazed carrots being sold out, but we had cauliflower cheese instead and it was lovely. The staff are amazing, it was so busy being Father's day and there had been an 80th birthday, but each and everyone took time with us for a chat. Breakfast was probably one of the best we've had. Super hot and amazingly quick service. I cannot fault this place. Will we be back? Oh yes, most definitely!
