Kilchrenan House occupies a Victorian building on Corran Esplanade, one of a run of grand seafront houses built to take advantage of the views across Oban Bay. Under recent new ownership, its 16 bedrooms have been refreshed while keeping original period character, with room types ranging from doubles to four-poster emperor beds, many named after nearby islands such as Mull and Lismore.
Rooms come with en suite bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, television and a stocked mini fridge, and flexible self check-in suits guests arriving on a late ferry or train. Many rooms have full or partial sea views over the bay towards Kerrera, and the house's position gives a genuine sense of Oban's Victorian seafront heyday.

Superb. This is the mark that other hotels need to aspire to. Well priced, very clean and tastefully decorated. £10 more than another hotel a few doors away that I stayed at last month and it is worlds apart. Staff friendly and helpful. Visiting with motorcycle and good parking at the rear of building. Highly recommended

This place was so cozy with gorgeous rooms, fully updated and remodeled, and great bedding and coffee/tea in the rooms. Staff was always super friendly and helpful. Really nice!

We stayed here prior to our boarding a small cruise ship for a tour of the Scottish coast. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for walking into town and the view of the sea was serene. We had an issue with trying to cool our room. The owner immediately sent someone to take care of the matter and offered to move us to a better room. I discovered that the room temperature matter was due to my not understanding how to manipulate the safety locks on the windows. The staff took full responsibility for our comfort. I was very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Kilchrenan House. The location is amazing. Walking out the front door, you see the lovely view of the water and can walk the promenade to get to anywhere in Oban. Our room was small, but spotless. The shower was hot. The in-room biscuits, oatmeal, and tea were just right before we went out for a day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again!
