About Oban Bay Hotel
Oban Bay Hotel stands on the edge of the town's esplanade, its rooms and public areas looking out over Oban Bay towards Mull, Kerrera and the Firth of Lorne. Part of the Crerar Hotels collection, it offers a straightforward, comfortable base with a spa, sun lounge and a restaurant serving Scottish dishes built around local seafood and produce.
Rooms range from comfortable doubles to family rooms and suites, each with a flat-screen television, private bathroom and tea and coffee-making facilities, and the hotel's bar and lounge areas make the most of the same bay views as the bedrooms.
The esplanade setting is a short, level walk from the town centre, harbour and distillery, giving easy access to Oban's restaurants and ferry terminal while still enjoying a quieter, sea-facing spot away from the busiest streets.

I had a really lovely stay at Oban Bay Hotel. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and couldn’t have been more helpful — especially when my dog injured her tail on the door. They were so kind and attentive, which really meant a lot. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with all facilities working well. The only small thing I missed was having a fridge in the room. I only had breakfast at the hotel, but it was absolutely delicious with a great selection to choose from. Overall, a great stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. 🐾✨

Friendly and welcoming and although they told us that there was a double room, it was a twin room which was corrected once we told them. We have to wait for the room to be ready, however they gave us a free drink which was a very good attempt for them to be even more welcoming. The same night we arrived we asked about the next day’s breakfast because we are both vegan. They said that it wasn’t a problem. They offered a full Scottish breakfast that was vegan and so after by many tourist. The next morning when we went to our table, there was no service for 25 minutes. No one took our order. There was no menu to be seen they brought us soya milk which was off and with lumps. After waiting 25 minutes, we decided to leave. I would not recommend it to vegans because even though they offered a full Scottish breakfast, what they could provide was a few bits and pieces of what should be a full Scottish vegan breakfast. They only offered ultra processed sausages, ultra processed beans and 1/2 tomato, they said because they run out of avocado. Very poor choice of food. It should have more fresh and healthy food not only for vegans but for the general clientele. BTW. There was no parking and the electric charger outside the hotel doesn’t work.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful meal at Oban Bay Hotel. The oysters were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. The steak was cooked to perfection, exactly as ordered, and the green peppercorn sauce was rich and incredibly tasty. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. Combined with the lovely atmosphere, it made for a fantastic dining experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would happily recommend it to others. Also recommend the classic mojito🍸 🦪🥩😊⭐

We had dinner at the Oban Bay Hotel and had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the staff truly went above and beyond. I ordered the steak, which unfortunately came out a bit overcooked at first. However, the team handled it absolutely flawlessly. They immediately replaced it with a perfectly cooked, delicious steak and even offered a free dessert as an apology for the wait. It is rare to see such quick, graceful, and generous customer service these days. Everything else about the meal was fantastic, and we left incredibly impressed. Highly recommend!
