About Dunarle Guesthouse

Dunarle Guesthouse is a modest, traditional property set along Dunollie Road in Oban, offering a straightforward and comfortable base rather than anything grand. The building has the feel of a classic Scottish B&B, with a garden to sit out in and a welcoming, homely character throughout.

Rooms are en-suite and family options are available, with drinks available in room and breakfast included to start the day before heading out. Reception operates around the clock, useful for those arriving late after a long drive up through the Highlands.

The guesthouse is well placed for exploring the wider area, with golf and fishing nearby for those wanting to get outdoors, and pubs, restaurants and other entertainment within easy reach for evenings in Oban itself. It suits guests looking for a simple, unfussy stopover rather than a destination in its own right.

Terrible experience with no understanding or care to help. No foresight that there could be more bookings if they were more understanding and accommodating, especially with local people. They are cashing in on people being vulnerable with the ferry disruptions. Avoid

Dunarle Guest House is a lovely spot tucked away in a quiet part of Oban high street. The location is ideal, within easy reach of the town and a moment walk away from the seaside. While I didn’t come across the garden mentioned in the bio, there is outdoor furniture. This overlooks the road but is still a pleasant place to unwind. The rooms are basic but clean, comfortable and easy to navigate. The TV is on the older side with only basic channels, so it's fine for a bit of downtime but don’t expect a cinema experience. That said, the WiFi connected quickly and worked well throughout our stay. You do have to pay for parking at the property but it's free between 5pm - 9am. Overall, Dunarle offers a simple, comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. I'd definitely stay here again!

Had an overnight stay , 4 motorcycles fit into an enclosed compound, rooms were comfortable and nipping clean , Andy the owner was great, handed keys over , you’re left to your own devices then cooks a mean fry up in the morning , fresh fruit , toast cereal and croissants, with tea and coffee. Right next to Markie Dans pub, which was jumping on a Saturday night , live music and great atmosphere. All the bars in Oban were lively and some had live music, what a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable stay, can’t wait to go back.
