About No.26 By The Sea
No.26 By The Sea sits directly on Oban's esplanade, its nine individually decorated rooms making the most of views across Oban Bay towards Kerrera and, on a clear day, Mull. Contemporary art and rustic furnishings run through the building, giving it a distinct boutique character rather than a formulaic hotel feel.
A sitting room with sea views, an open fire and a well-stocked honesty bar of local drinks gives guests somewhere to settle in the evening, and breakfast is served with the same view out over the water. Dogs are genuinely welcomed, with beds and treats provided for four-legged guests.
Its esplanade position puts the harbour, distillery and station within a level ten to fifteen minute walk, while the setting itself, right on the seafront away from the busiest streets, gives a quieter base than the town centre without losing any convenience.

What guests say
Had a wonderful stay at no 26 in a sea view room (from 1). Beautiful location with an easy walk to the centre of town. Loved the decor (could see a lot of thought and effort had gone into it) and all staff were so welcoming and helpful. Little extras were appreciated (fresh orange and pastry delivered to your door before breakfast and an honesty box bar should you wish). We felt thoroughly taken care of and look forward to a return trip.

My husband and I were in the Highlands for a holiday and decided to spend a night in Oban on our drive home. It was my first visit, and for my husband, his first time back in over 30 years. We came across No. 26 Hotel — it looked charming and, importantly for us, dog-friendly. We booked without quite knowing what to expect… and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be. Our experience began with a phone booking handled by Eva, a member of the hotel team. She was thoughtful, attentive, and clearly understood what works for guests travelling with a dog — especially our little double doodle. She recommended a cosy room with direct garden access, which turned out to be perfect. The room itself was warm, comfortable, and beautifully set up. We had one of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in a long time — the bed was exceptional. From the room and garden, you can step straight out onto a quiet, scenic walking path. I took our little dog out for a morning walk, and it was the perfect way to start the day — peaceful, traffic-free, and right along the coastline, with the road set well away from the path. Breakfast was another highlight. Not only was it delicious and thoughtfully prepared, but our dog was also treated to her own morning treats — a lovely touch that didn’t go unnoticed. Oh, before breakfast, the hotel left a tray of bakery and two bottles of orange juice by your door as a starter before breakfast! How lovely. All in all, it was a truly memorable stay — a lovely hotel run by genuinely lovely people, in a beautiful setting. We’re already planning a return visit in September.

Oh what a find! If there’s a perfect a Bed and Breakfast this is it! The room’s are eclectic, fun, thoughtful and the made to order breakfast is another level! Eva at the front desk was super friendly Property at a great location Try EE-USK, that’s not a typo, it’s a Gaelic word for fish, and it’s an amazing seafood restaurant, a 10 minute walk from the hotel!
