About The Bat & Ball Inn

Sunday lunch and a well-regarded steak are what regulars talk about at The Bat & Ball Inn, a historic pub-hotel by the river in Cuddesdon, just outside Oxford. The kitchen works with quality ingredients across a broad menu, and there's a snack bar and packed lunches for anyone on the move, plus kids meals for family visits.

Rooms are en-suite and comfortably furnished, with family rooms available and drinks laid on if you fancy staying in. Breakfast is served each morning, and the bar and garden with outdoor seating make a good spot for an evening drink. Staff are generally friendly and welcoming, though service can be slower at busier times.

Free on-site parking makes it an easy base for exploring Oxford, and there's a golf course, pubs, and other restaurants nearby for those who want to venture further. Laundry service and 24 hour reception cover the practical side of a longer stay.

Had a fantastic meal here recently and honestly could not fault a single thing. The food was absolutely delicious and everything arrived at the table looking perfectly prepared. The roast was a highlight, especially the yorkshire pudding which was cooked just right. It is rare to find a spot that balances quality and comfort so well, but this place manages it effortlessly. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal in a lovely setting.

Beautiful village pub serving fabulous food and great cask ales. Wine list is helpfully broken down into categories depicting the style of the wines, making choosing a lot simpler. The menu was full of lovely dishes to choose from. The staff were engaging and very helpful. We stayed the night, however, our room was next to a store room that was possibly used by the kitchen staff. So a bit noisy late evening and early morning. The room itself was delightful. Just some sound insulation needed. Overall a great place to eat, drink and sleep in a beautiful location. Worthy of a second visit without any shadow of doubt.

Location is very quiet and peaceful. Great nights sleep and comfy bed - the bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard. The food and especially the breakfast is unbelievable, far better than in any other places we have ever stayed it’s mainly what has drawn us back again. To top it off the staff are very welcoming and accommodating Would highly recommend Lovely weekend

Great service, wonderful food and such a nice welcoming manager who made our birthday meal special. Recommend parking outside if you have a huge car, because the entrance is quite tight. Nice views from the back, cannot wait to go back in this sunshine.
