About The Buttery - Guest House

The Buttery - Guest House occupies a townhouse on Broad Street, right in the heart of Oxford, with the kind of period character that comes from an older city building rather than a purpose-built hotel. It has been arranged into 16 rooms, each fitted with modern comforts despite the historic shell, and guests should be aware the staircases are steep, a legacy of the building's age.

Rooms come with the usual practical extras: free WiFi throughout, and breakfast served on site. There's a restaurant and bar within the guest house itself, along with a garden for quieter moments, plus lift access, luggage storage, laundry service and concierge help for anything guests need sorting during their stay. Meeting rooms and business services are also available for those combining a visit with work.

Free on-site parking is a rare find this central, and the location puts guests within walking distance of Oxford's historic attractions, with pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Street noise can be noticeable from some rooms, worth bearing in mind for light sleepers, but the position makes up for it for anyone keen to explore the city on foot.

Great location, less than 10 minute walk from train station. We arrived too early to check in and our bags were held while we explored. All the cities highlightsxwere less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The entrance to the hotel can be eslasily missed as it's between 2 shops. Head up the stairs to the 1st floor where reception is located. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. A/c was on upon arrival. I would stay here again

Genuinely one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Charming but clean, and the modern washroom was a huge plus. They also had an AC unit which was incredible in this heat. Perfect location and a great view from the top floor!

I give 1 star, which I rarely do. In this case as guest I was treated as someone to make money off of, with no regard for their reputation. There were issues with the booking that were not their fault, but that nonetheless led me to pay for 4 nights while spending only 1. They could have given me a break, but must have calculated that a bad rating from me would harm them less than giving me at least some of my money back. So I would like you to think of this as a place that is conveniently located, with rooms that are alright, but run by management that is not proud of what they do.

A great location in the centre of oxford, it is a little hard to find as its a little entrance in-between two shops. only a 5 min walk to everything the city, also cheaper than the other hotels nearby. Rooms as described staff are very friendly. overall a pleasant stay
