About Macdonald's Farm Touring and Camping
Macdonald's Farm has carved out a reputation as one of Cornwall's more polished family campsites, thanks to spacious, well-kept pitches and exceptional facilities that include family shower rooms and generously stocked shared kitchens. The real draw, though, is the lively on-site atmosphere: the BBQ and Sunday roasts are popular, live music lifts the evenings, and children have both a cracking play area and farm animals to keep them entertained. Staff are genuinely helpful and the site caters to most setups, from non-electric grass plots to fully serviced hardstanding pitches.
It's worth noting this isn't a quiet hideaway – the buzz and entertainment mean it feels more like a mini holiday village than a back-to-basics retreat. But if you want a base near Padstow that keeps the whole family fed, busy and comfortable, Macdonald's Farm delivers with real warmth.

Had the best bank holiday weekend at Macdonald’s Farm Padstow. Amazing restaurant, small farm animals, lovely play park with stunning views. Very local to beaches and an all round good location for sightseeing. Pitches were well maintained alongside the shower facilities, all kept extremely clean. Very trendy campsite, everything you need is on site. Have to mention the amazing staff who are so friendly and accommodating especially the lovely Rosie who always greeted guests with a smile. Thank you for a fantastic stay ❤️

We love this place. Third time at the farm and was the best stay yet. The camping pitches are really flat and well maintained, facilities great and staff all really helpful and friendly. Food and coffee also great. Loads there for kids and not noisy at night for the little ones. The new extension is great too for a bit of shade/shelter and food and live music some evenings. Location is also perfect, only a few minutes from Porthcothan beach. Can’t recommend it enough, especially if you have younger kids. Will be back again next year.

We had a fantastic stay at MacDonald’s farm. We camped and used the facilities over Easter weekend. The pitch sizes are great and family shower rooms were clean and well maintained. We normally do a lot of camp site cooking when we camp however here we hardly did anyway as the food was exceptional. We had bbq food one night, pizza the next and roast on the Sunday. As well as live music entertainment. Staff were kind and welcoming, we stayed over Easter and they had various games and activities for the children to do. It’s a small sweet campsite with lovely animals and a great little play park. The animal cuddling experience was full on the Saturday however they put on an extra one on the Monday so we didn’t miss out which was lovely. The only small negative is there isn’t much indoor activities/entertainment during the day. We were unlucky with storm Dave while we stayed and the only rest bite from the wind was to hide in the tents or eat and drink in the cafe/restaurant. As there was a big group of us (3 families), we ended up with 12 in one tent so we could all hang out together. I would definitely recommend this campsite and come again in the future.

This place is like a great campsite, on steroids! Particularly aimed towards the family experience; as a couple with a dog we opted towards the relative peace of Mawgies! Built within its private enclosure, as part of the 'glamping' option, Mawgies offers something a little more special, away from the close-quarter experience of the standard camping areas. It's not completely private, as anyone is free to walk reasonably close to your private area to view the lovely alpacas, and the staff accommodation is right next to you behind a staggered fence line. However, with its own garden area, fire pit, and wood-fired hot tub, the self-contained wooden hut is nicely appointed and finished with its own en-suite shower facilities. Personally, we had a couple of little issues with our stay, hence the unfortunate slight drop in rating, but these issues were eventually managed rather well. The main building is really nicely put together, the bar is reasonably priced, and the food is of a high standard, although a little expensive in my opinion. There is a shop near the reception, offering all of the little supply refreshes you might need. Parking is ample, the site is easy to find and well surfaced throughout. The added bonus is the great array of music they have on over weekends, to bring a nice chilled vibe later in the evenings. Finally, it's location is perfect for those wishing to visit the beach, or hit the coast path, with some of the most beautiful sections right on its doorstep. It really is a cracking place. 👌
