Badger Lodge
Pembrokeshire
Badger Lodge sits on a cliff top overlooking the Cleddau Estuary, where the tidal waters shift constantly and boats drift past against changing light. The hamlet of Burton is nearby, and from the decking you can watch birdlife and wildlife across the water—a landscape that works equally well with morning coffee or an evening glass of wine from the hot tub. The owner maintains a private cliff-top walk down to the shoreline for guests willing to take care on the steep sections; Rudders Boatyard is 200 yards away if you want to launch a kayak or paddleboard.
The whole lodge is yours alone. Ground-floor living means a compact kitchen with gas cooker, dishwasher and the usual appliances; an open-plan living and dining area with French doors onto the decking; one bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bath and shower; the other with a zip-and-link king (or twin on request) and a separate shower room. The decking is large, with a small lawn, garden furniture and a gas barbecue, plus your private hot tub for four. Wifi, bed linen and towels are included. There are three steps at the entrance and the garden has unprotected cliff drops; the property is not suitable for children under 12. No smoking. A pub and restaurant are a 15-minute walk away, and the Pembrokeshire Coast footpath is within reach if you want to explore further afield.
