Old Mill Cottage

Old Mill Cottage is a stone-built property in Blair Atholl, a village at the foot of Glen Tilt in the heart of the Cairngorms. The cottage comes with essentials covered—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi included—so you can arrive and settle in without thinking about the basics. The kitchen is properly set up for self-catering: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and microwave mean you can cook as much or as little as you want. There's also a travel cot, highchair and stairgate if you're bringing young children.

Downstairs, the living and dining room opens onto a decking area with garden furniture, facing out toward the surrounding hills. The bathroom has a bath with shower, and upstairs are two bedrooms: one double and one with two singles. You have private parking for two cars on site, plus bike storage. A pub is within a mile's walk, and the village train station makes it easy to arrive without driving. Blair Castle and its gardens are nearby; the Atholl Watermill is close by for provisions and baked goods.

The area suits anyone wanting outdoor activity—there are nine-hole and four full-size golf courses within easy reach, mountain biking routes, hill walks, and fishing opportunities. Note that the grounds include a step and an unfenced stream. No smoking in the cottage.
