About Premier Inn Portsmouth Horndean

Premier Inn Portsmouth Horndean is a modern, three-storey building set out along the Havant Road, holding 46 en-suite rooms across its low-rise layout. The design is straightforward and functional rather than characterful, but it works well for its purpose, with a lift serving all floors and accessible rooms available.

Rooms come with air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and the usual Premier Inn comforts of decent beds and fresh towels and pillows. There's a restaurant and bar on site serving breakfast and evening meals, plus 24 hour reception and drinks available in the room. Some guests have noted that the range of amenities is fairly limited, so this suits those after a comfortable, no-fuss base rather than a full-service stay.

Free parking is available directly in front of the hotel, and the location near the A3(M) makes it a handy stop for exploring Portsmouth or the surrounding Hampshire countryside. Horndean village itself is close by, with a pub, restaurants and a pizza eatery within easy reach, while golf, fishing and horse riding can all be found nearby for those wanting to fill their time outdoors.

Sophie our receptionist is a credit to your organisation. Nothing was too much trouble and Sophie was most helpful after a long day. Was a bit worried a late check in could be problematic but need not! All in all a great experience. And we bought a couple of pillows so they were so comfortable.

The room was extremely basic. There were no plug sockets near the bed, no iron or ironing board provided, and no phone in the room to request one. There wasn’t even a cup in the bathroom to hold a toothbrush. I also noticed a sign in the bathroom saying that if you want a rubber mat, you need to request one from reception, which would mean getting dressed and going back downstairs to ask for it. There had been an issue with my booking, and I was advised the night before to request a VAT receipt the following morning so I could claim it back, as it should have been prepaid by my workplace. However, there was no one at reception when I went down. I waited several minutes and no staff member appeared. The lady I spoke to the previous evening was friendly and helpful. I had also paid for breakfast, (which is held in a pub at the bottom of the carpark) but my name wasn’t on the list. Thankfully, the staff member allowed me in. Overall, it was a disappointing stay, especially at £104 per night.
