Coity Bach - Ty Fferm Hen
Powys
Coity Bach – Ty Fferm Hen is a 16th-century farmhouse on a working farm in the Usk Valley. The ground floor is a single open space: a sitting area with a woodburner and smart TV, a sofa bed that sleeps two, and a kitchen and dining section in the same room. Upstairs, the bedroom holds a double bed and two singles, with a bathroom featuring a freestanding bath and shower. The property sleeps four and is yours alone.
An enclosed garden comes with a hot tub, seating and a barbecue. There is parking for two cars on site. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial fuel for the woodburner. One dog stays free. The farmhouse does not permit smoking.
The 34-acre farm sits within the Brecon Beacons National Park, designated an International Dark Sky Reserve – worth knowing if you plan to do any stargazing. Walks onto the Usk Valley Trail begin at the gate, with views across to the Sugar Loaf and Black Mountains. Talybont-on-Usk village, a short distance away, has a shop, café, pubs serving food and bike hire. Brecon itself lies roughly five miles downhill via the Monmouthshire canal; the town holds the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum, cathedral, and independent cafés, restaurants and galleries.
