About Pencelli Castle Caravan & Camping Park
Pencelli Castle occupies an old farmstead in the village of Pencelli, four miles south-east of Brecon, with the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal running along one boundary and the central Beacons rising directly to the south. The site is laid out across three fields—the Orchard, the Oaks and the Meadow—with a wildflower meadow left uncut through the summer and mature trees giving shelter and shade. Touring caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome, with hardstandings and fully serviced pitches available alongside grass.
Facilities are the reason this park wins awards year after year. The heated toilet block has en suite cubicles rather than the usual rows, there's a proper drying room for boots and waterproofs, a full laundry, a small shop for essentials and fast wifi across the whole site. A children's play area, a collection of vintage farm machinery and a small herd of red deer keep younger visitors occupied. Adults-only areas are available for those who would rather not have them nearby, though the site doesn't allow pets.
The location suits walkers and cyclists particularly well. The Taff Trail passes close by, the canal towpath gives level walking and cycling in both directions, and paths lead from the village up onto the Beacons ridge. Buses to Brecon, Abergavenny and Swansea stop at the gate, making this one of the few sites in the park where a car is genuinely optional.

What visitors say
What a beautiful campsite! We just returned last night after a 4 night stay. We are a family of 5 with a baby and 2 children aged 8 and 6. The campsite is music free which was great for us as the kids could sleep at night! The toilets and showere are spotless. The site is obviously well looked after, with beautiful flowers and greenery. Our kids loved the park, and playing football on the field. Lovely little pub down the road that backs on to the canal, unfortunately we never got chance to eat there, but we plan on coming back. The owners were lovely. Our battery went on the car as packing up last night and the one man was there trying to help us get it going, with no issues. Also shout out to a regular camper there Jamie who helped no end. Overall, lovely campsite, lovely area, lovely people, very safe feeling site. Thanks for a lovely stay, we are excited to return! :)

Pencelli Castle Caravan and Camping Site was recommended to us by a number of friends and it was an excellent choice. The site is just up the road from Brecon, so is excellently situated. It caters for campers, caravanners, motorbikes and campervans. We were on motorbikes, and the site is very biker-friendly. The amenities were the cleanest we've ever seen. I can only comment on the women's facilities, but there were plenty of toilets, private wash basins, free hot showers. There were also two separate family/disability-friendly changing rooms. Other facilities include the Reception and well-stocked onsite shop, information room housing free to use fridges and freezers (you need to bag and mark up your food), laundrette, drying room - which includes lockable cages (keys free from Reception), and a dishwashing/food preparation room. The site is split into 3 areas. The first us primarily hard standing for caravans. The next area (where we stayed), called The Oaks, is dedicated to persons wanting electrical hook-ups, except for 3 small non-electric pitches that can be used by those with smaller tents. We didn't need electric but we did want a bigger pitch with access to handstanding for the motorbikes (as wet weather was forecast and we were concerned not to cut up the grass), and the site was very accommodating of our needs, allocating us Pitch 21. The site has a strict no noise policy, which was upheld by everyone around us. Watch out for the friendly Robins that will come calling for titbits at mealtimes, and the Blue Tits nesting in a cigarette disposal bin at the amenities building. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay, and will gladly return in the future.

Lovely site with excellent clean facilities and lots of site options. Our favourite was the meadow. The pub is just 5 minutes away. Great location for a challenging walk up into the hills or a towpath bike ride to Brecon. Will be back and strongly recommend.

We recently stayed for 3 nights at Pencelli Castle in a camper van whilst visiting the Brecons and we couldn’t be happier. The site was incredibly quiet and peaceful and the plot that we booked that had full facilities, was very private with bushes either side of us. The facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean and easy to find and use. Check in was easy and the staff that we saw were very friendly. The location is excellent if you just want to sit and chill and maybe go for a walk to the pub which is a stones throw away. Or, if like us you want to walk Pen Y Fan and the gorgeous 4 Waterfalls walk. All in all an excellent site.
