The Hayloft

Photo: The Hayloft...

Knighton sits on the border between England and Wales, with Hay-on-Wye five miles away and the village of Glasbury within walking distance. The Hayloft is a Grade II listed conversion in a Georgian farmhouse courtyard, offering a whole property to yourselves with four bedrooms across two floors and space for eight guests. One dog is welcome.

The ground floor holds two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with twin beds—that share a shower room and overlook the courtyard through double-aspect windows. Upstairs, the living space is open plan with a woodburner, television and DVD player, alongside a kitchen equipped for self-catering with an oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. A super-king and another king bedroom sit on the first floor with a bathroom offering a bath and shower. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included; logs for the woodburner are provided.

A patio with garden furniture and barbecue is reserved for your use, while the shared gardens contain a ping-pong table and plenty of space to walk. There is parking on site for three cars, and an outside tap to rinse muddy paws. The cottage suits families, groups and walkers, with no smoking inside.

I stayed at the Hayloft for 4 nights last week and went with my family of 12 people. From the adults to the toddler, we all enjoyed our stay. It is a very rural setting. Be ready to for no reception and limited WiFi signals. The views were absolutely amazing. To wake up to green hills covered in trees for miles and miles was such a treat! The Hayloft itself was very charming and really well equipped for all your needs. The beds/pillows were comfortable and the towels provided were clean and soft. The Hayloft is not so far from the town Knighton. The high street had quaint shops and cafes. We had cream tea at the Clock Tower cafe. The scones were delicious. Being in the middle of farmland there are lots of flies and some noise from the animals from the adjacent farms. This is expected. The host Melissa was great. She stayed in touch for any concerns and checked the hot tub twice. We had an amazing time and we would highly recommend.

Just stayed here with the girls and we loved it. Really beautiful place. We had a walk around the farm to which was lovely to get some fresh air. One arrival we was left a homemade lemon cake, best lemon cake I've ever had ❤️

We stayed here a month ago for a full week. The owners are really helpful if you need anything. The grounds of the house were neat and tidy, the house itself is amazing, lovely and clean, extremely roomy. Very short drive to local shops. We will definitely be visiting again.
