What visitors say
This might be my new favourite campsite. Stunning views, plenty of space to pitch and lovely, clean facilities. Lucie and her family and animals were very welcoming and friendly (Hoppity, the cat made a thorough inspection of my van). A great place for a relaxing few days to sit and enjoy the sunshine during the day and the stars at night. I will definitely be back.

We’ve just had two days camping , two friends taking their sons on their first camping trip. Seren Bach was the perfect campsite with stunning views, and a simple and safe campsite for the boys to play. Lucie and her family were so welcoming and look after the campsite. Clean facilities, fire pits to hire. A lovely place near Hay and we will definitely be back.

Seren Bach is incredible. The view is amazing, the toilets and showers are lovely and beautifully decorated, the bar is very cute and you can have campfires! I stayed here end of April start of May by myself while working nearby and returned a month later with my friend and her four year old, I really wanted him to see this place it’s the sort of holiday where kids make core memories for life! The swings and campfires are part of it, but most especially the animals. Lucie has chickens and ducks and geese and two sheep all living together right next to the campsite. He loved watching them being fed in the morning and feeding the sheep grass over the fence and there are even FREE RANGE GUINEA PIGS just knocking about loose in the corner of the field I do not know how Lucie managed that I have never seen such a thing she is a right dr Doolittle. She also has four cats and a dog and the campsite is dog friendly although of course they have to be on the lead with all the animals there! She lives on site with her husband and kids and her parents who are also lovely her mum complimented my outfits and brought out a kids bike for him to play on and her dad let him “help” fix the wee garden tractor engine which was very patient of him because I love him but he’s hard work sometimes. On both visits Lucie ended up lending me one of her own possessions, she gave me lifts a couple of times and on one evening another guest with a small child was going through some stuff and was ready to throw in the towel and go home and she helped her with practical things and then sat talking to her about her struggles for ages and both the guest and her child stayed and were in really good spirits the rest of their trip. Another day I found a wild duckling on it’s own far from water and took it back and she came out to get it from my tent and take care of it with her other “house duckling” it would not have survived the night without her, I messaged late in the evening about it and she came straight to save it. She is a very inspirational lady and it was very nice to meet her and I’m sure we will visit again. She consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty it’s crystal clear this is not just a business. Most visitors have cars, I managed fine with a bicycle though. There is a path to hay by the river which is 20 minutes on a bike or an hour walking and it’s beautiful, away from the road, and flat and there’s places you can swim. I cannot recommend this campsite enough, there is nowhere else like this not just in the area but anywhere. It’s the closest I’ve felt to the good sides of wild camping while still having facilities. If I could give more stars I would.

Just returned today from a 2 night break camping at Seren Bach as a family of two adults and two toddlers. We had an amazing time, despite the weather bringing overnight storms the first night which we turned into a fun event for the kids. The site is spotless, great shower and toilet facilities with a park and pitch where you like policy. The views surrounding the site are fantastic, with chickens, geese, sheep and a lovely cat and dog on site to keep the kids busy. The little homemade bar on site and seated area with fire, deck chairs and hay bales was wonderful, enjoying the peace and simplicity of what camping brings. Lucie was a great host and has a wonderful family, we really did enjoy our two days on site, the kids didn't want to come home. We are already checking the calendar for our next visit and can't wait to see what events Seren Bach have over the summer. Thanks guys. Joe, Hayley, Betsy & Arthur x
