About De Vere Wokefield Estate
Rooms at De Vere Wokefield Estate are generous in size and kept clean throughout, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks provided in-room, and family and accessible options among the 376 available. Some rooms can run warm in summer, so it's worth checking air conditioning if that matters to you, though most are fitted with it.
The estate itself is built for both business and leisure, with meeting rooms and business services alongside a spa, sauna, gym and indoor swimming pool. A restaurant serves food that guests consistently rate highly, and there's a bar, garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer days. Staff are noted as attentive and friendly, and the hotel also operates as a wedding venue, so events and celebrations are well catered for.
Outside, the grounds include a golf course on-site, with fishing, watersports and further entertainment nearby, plus pubs and restaurants within reach for those who want to explore beyond the estate. Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point are provided, and pets are welcome throughout.
What guests say
We had a one night stay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The setting is gorgeous and the rooms are very clean, but are looking a bit dated, we also found that the air conditioner was rather feeble. That said the wonderful lady on reception 'Helen' was exceptionally helpful and managed to get a large fan sent to the room for us. All the staff we encountered were very personable, smartly presented and helpful. Food choice at the hotel was great, the swimming pool and sauna very clean and we are going to go back in October with friends for a golfing break.

Excellent service, staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Sophie in particular was so helpful and accommodating. The restaurant has many great options, the food was so fresh and well presented. The hotel has a really peaceful vibe despite how popular it is. The rooms were so nicely decorated and had fans to tackle the heat wave. Everything was perfect especially the customer service. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel, it had no faults.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first night. Helen on reception was incredibly helpful and welcoming during check-in. She kindly assisted us with upgrading our room for an additional charge and was a genuinely lovely person who made us feel very welcome. Angela prepared our room, which was spotless and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was clear from the moment we arrived. The grounds are beautiful and exceptionally well maintained, especially considering the very dry weather we've been experiencing. It has been a real pleasure walking around and enjoying them. We stayed in the Mansion House, where every member of staff we encountered was friendly, chatty and kind. We requested some additional toilet roll, which was delivered within 10 minutes with a smile - excellent service. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice and good-quality produce. The pool was clean and well maintained, and the gentleman in the pro shop was also very friendly and welcoming. Overall, we would rate our stay 4/5 and would happily return. A few suggestions that could make an excellent stay even better: - Room 112: The shower door leaks significantly, leaving a large puddle on the bathroom floor after use. - It would be a nice touch to provide conditioner alongside the shampoo in both the bedrooms and pool changing facilities. - We were surprised there wasn't any body lotion or similar toiletries in our deluxe room. - We paid the additional charge for our dog to stay, having understood that a dog bed and bowls would be provided. Unfortunately, these weren't supplied despite us requesting this to three different members of staff.

We stayed in the mansion house and upgraded to a suite, which was lovely and had air conditioning that was definitely a bonus as we stayed during July. Staff were lovely. I've marked my rating down by a star because there was no room service available at weekends and only place to eat without pre-booking at Benedicts Bar in the Wokefield place building. The food took ages to arrive and when it did, the waitress spilt balsamic vinegar on my trousers. In fairness, the Manager was great and apologised but the staff were clearly rushed off their feet and the kitchen couldn't keep up with the demand, putting additional pressure on the waiting staff. Having said that, the stay overall was good - we were there for a family wedding which was beautiful, especially as the weather was good so the ceremony could be held outside.
