About Roselawn Hotel

Free on-site parking is one of the more practical draws at the Roselawn Hotel, set on Burghfield Hill just outside Reading in Berkshire. It's an unassuming, down-to-earth place rather than a design showpiece, but that straightforwardness is part of the appeal for anyone wanting a comfortable base without fuss.

Rooms are en-suite and simply furnished, with family rooms available and drinks provided in-room, plus free WiFi throughout for those working or catching up online. A restaurant and bar operate on site, and breakfast is included, so there's no need to head out first thing. Meeting rooms are also available, making the hotel a reasonable option for business visitors as well as leisure guests.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers fishing, watersports, and further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with entertainment options for those wanting to explore Reading and its outskirts. It's a hotel that keeps things uncomplicated: solid rooms, a proper meal on site, and easy parking at the door.

Very welcoming stat in a very picturesque are close by some very handy main routes. Staff could not of been more friendly and welcoming and every request I had was dealt with swiftly and politely. Comfy bed, heaters could do with being upgraded but room was more than comfortable. Shower provided enough power for what I needed. Nice to have a desk in the room with wardrobe. Cleanliness was A+ and there were no areas I felt had been covered up or neglected. No hesitations in recommending this hotel.

Nice but dated rooms, very comfortable double bed, clean and tidy, TV is to small, very noisy boiler in the loft that woke me up often, shower was rubbish and would only just trickle out the shower head with very low pressure, had to move the soap try so I could stand close enough to the wall to get wet. Dinner and breakfast was excellent, staff are friendly and very helpful, With a couple of room upgrades this hotel will be very nice indeed.

Near-flawless customer service with table service for breakfast (a rarity for accommodation in this price bracket) that was cooked to order. Located in a pleasant rural setting with easy access to M3 and the centre of Reading, though traffic can be heavy at peak periods. The small bar (which closes at 11pm) serves bottled drinks only but the seating area has some extremely comfortable leather sofas to sit on and a chess set for guests. Given.4 rather than 5 stars only due to the lack of central heating and although the accommodation was equipped with a wall-mounted fan heater, the noise of this could perhaps grate a bit on a long winter's night. Overall, highly recommended. Note there is no lift to first-floor rooms and several steps up to those on the ground floor so not ideal for wheelchair access.
