About Travelodge Reading M4 Eastbound

Travelodge Reading M4 Eastbound suits drivers wanting a straightforward overnight stop rather than a destination in itself, right at the M4 Moto Service Area near junction 12. With 86 rooms spread across two floors, it works equally well for a late arrival before a motorway journey, a business trip near Reading, or a break on the way to the Madejski Stadium.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and are generally spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds noted by many who stay. There's no air conditioning, and some rooms can show signs of wear, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to offsetting the basic nature of the accommodation.

On site there's a restaurant and bar, breakfast service, an electric vehicle charge point, drinks available in-room, and accessible rooms alongside 24-hour reception. Free on-site parking is available, though it's allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Pets are welcome, and a KFC sits nearby along with other pubs and restaurants for those wanting alternatives to the hotel's own dining.

I like Travelodges personally, and this one is fairly standard with the usual amenities. It works and it’s functional, and you’ll sleep well at night. All I’d ask more of this one is for a good deep clean. The hallways absolutely stink of wet dog. Pet friendly isn’t an issue at all, but the odour left behind could be better managed. The hallways smell of wet dog and a vague whiff of it was also present in my room (107). Other than that, it’s a motorway services Travelodge. You get what you pay for, and that’s no bad thing.

Perfect place to stop if you're heading into London. We booked a one night stay and despite a communication issue as at one point it looked like they didnt have any record of our booking. Short time later we received the keys and all was good. It was surprisingly quiet and no disturbances at night.Staff friendly. Plenty of amenities in the services next door. Will gladly book again.

Travelodge - we are fairly regular customers who book approximately 15/20 rooms a year. We stayed here last year and thought that it was a one off issue BUT, after this stay, never again. Cleanliness -not up to usual standards. Service - last time very good, this time poor. First room I was given had what would best be described as a light in the bathroom which you would describe as a strobe light. When I went to reception she was quite dismissive stating that it flashes a couple of times and will be fine. I asked for a refund then she decided to go up and check. Then decided to change the room. Bed - Very very poor. Talk about being a hard bed! It honestly feels like I'm sleeping on a block of wood. The worst bed I've ever slept on in any Travelodge over the years. Premier Inn are far superior to this in ALL their hotels. Lift - you need one. It is difficult to carry luggage up if you have arthritis and other issues with walking up steps. I don't like taking up the accessible accommodation as I'd rather leave that for people who need aids to move around. Again the staff member was quite dismissive stating it is not a problem as it is only one flight of stairs. Room - tatty, torn chairs? Seriously? I would not expect that from a backstreet independent hotel, never mind from a national chain. You really need to pull your act together in my opinion. Premier Inn are better and consistently so, which is why we have started using them more and more.

Perfect for one night on our way to holiday, you know what you get: nothing fancy but large and airy rooms with comfy bed. Very good price. This is located in a services area with several options to eat as well as a WH Smith and Marks & Spencer of a good size. If you fancy a nice pub, there's the Cunning Man 10 minutes walk away.
