About Travelodge Reading M4 Westbound
Right inside the M4 Moto Service Area, Travelodge Reading M4 Westbound is built for travellers who need a straightforward break from the motorway rather than a destination in its own right. The hotel has 100 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and accessible rooms for those who need them, all backed by 24 hour reception so late arrivals and early starts are no trouble.
Parking is free on-site, arranged by registering your vehicle at reception, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those passing through on longer journeys. Food is easy to come by too, with a restaurant on hand, breakfast available, and a Costa Coffee, pub and further eateries all nearby at the service area, so there's no need to venture off the motorway. Pets are welcome, which helps if you're travelling as a family.
Rooms here are generally well kept, quiet and reasonably priced for what's offered, with staff noted for being helpful. One thing to be aware of is that rooms lack air conditioning, so they can get warm in mild weather. As a place to break a journey to or from Reading, it does exactly what's needed.

What guests say
Convenient location, good price and friendly staff. Only down side is picnic tables outside your bedroom window. Rooms were very hot as don't have air conditioning and there is constant noise from outside as people sit at the benches right outside the bedroom windows throughout the night. Ideal for a short one night trip and price reflects this.

We had to return from our holiday in Northern France within 24 hours. We left France at around 1.30am and headed home to SW Wales. We needed to stop sling the way and booked the Travelodge at Reading M4 Westbound. Paid for early check-in on 21/06/26, as we would not have stopped apart from the ferry ride. We were absolutely knackered and arrived too early for the early check-in. The young gentleman with glasses, (really sorry, I can't remember you name), on reception was very understanding and as our room was already waiting for our arrival allowed us to check-in straight away. We can't thank this gentleman enough for his professional conduct, understanding and empathy with our situation. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 The room was spotless, cool on arrival (despite the heatwave creeping in), very comfortable and quiet. Yes quite! Even though every Tom, Dick and Harry was milling around not far from our window! There is nothing to really fault this place. We managed to get straight to sleep and were able to resume our onward journey home at 4.30am on Sunday. The only things that would have made our stay slightly better was voil netting at the window. Also, and this is a fault at ALL Travelodges that we stay in regularly, is air conditioning. I don't know what it is about the design of Travelodges but they are ALWAYS too hot, no matter what weather it is! I'd be happy for an additional £5 per night to be added to enjoy air conditioning in your rooms and I'm sure many other people would agree!

Great place to stay. Very reasonable pricing. Clean and tidy. Ability make a cuppa and the service station 30 seconds away, with lots of shops and places to eat. My only complaint would be that the toilet is far too close to the wall! 😂 Otherwise, an excellent place to go.

Strangely, a very good travel lodge. Spacious, clean and quiet rooms and of course late night food and shops from the service station food hall. Dog friendly with a huge meadow behind for walking the dog.
