About Village Hotel Reading

Village Hotel Reading is a sizeable four-floor property set beside Caversham Bridge, built along contemporary lines rather than steeped in history, and offering 122 rooms across the building. Many rooms look out over the river, and all come with air conditioning, drinks in the room and the option of family or accessible layouts. Lift access, luggage storage and room service round out the practical side of a stay.

The leisure facilities are a strong point, with an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room available to guests, alongside a bar, restaurant and an on-site Starbucks for those who want a coffee without leaving the building. Breakfast is served on-site, kids' meals are available, and the hotel also has meeting rooms and business services for anyone travelling with work in mind. Pets are welcome, and on-site parking is available, though it is chargeable.

Reading itself is close by, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus golf courses within reach for those wanting to venture out. Staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful, and the rooms are kept clean and comfortable, making this a practical base for both leisure and business visits to Reading.

The best night's sleep! Dan and Samantha at Reception were exceptional. I arrived before check-in and over the phone Dan sorted my parking out, adding my car details so I could attend my meetings without stress with a fine on return. Check-in was easy and smooth with assistance there if needed. The room is just what you need after a long warm day; the aircon, the space and added luxury (if you booked club) with filtered water on tap. Didn't make use of the gym / pool this time. Closed the black-out and slept like a baby. The mattress and duvet are just lush. Breakfast was good to start the day with a variety of choices. As a non coffee/ tea drinker, a hot chocolate option would be nice in the room / breakfast, but not the end of the world. Check-out just as easy. The facilities inside is a bonus with Starbucks being available as well. Food selection to order was great as well. Thank you Dan for your friendly and cheerful assistance.

We recently stayed at the Village Hotel Reading and were absolutely blown away by what a wonderful experience it was. Our three-night stay included several visits to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, all of which exceeded expectations. The hotel itself was immaculate and perfectly located, being just a short walk from the town centre and train station, yet right beside the beautiful River Thames, making it ideal for our walking getaway. We enjoyed a scenic riverside walk to nearby Goring and even took a quick train trip to Oxford for the day. The hotel offers an impressive range of facilities, including a heated pool, sauna, and gym. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with a wide variety of options and food that was constantly replenished. Our room was spacious and, despite being next to a busy road, incredibly quiet. We weren’t disturbed once by traffic or other guests. A special thank you goes to the fantastic staff who made our stay even more memorable. Dan and Eve at reception, along with Shankar and Lilya (and another young man working alongside Shankar in the bar), were all exceptional. Every member of staff we encountered was polite, friendly, and welcoming. Thank you again for such outstanding hospitality. We’re already looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed here for the first time on Saturday night. What can I say. Super attentive friendly staff. Rooms really lovely and clean. Fresh smell throughout entire hotel. We upgraded our room to a balcony for a very reasonable price. Rooms are a good size with comfy beds, black out curtains and large TV. Bar staff very on point. While we stayed we made us of the darts which was great fun. We also checked out the wellness facilities which I must say are super clean and tidy. Breakfast was ok but it did have everything you could need for. Starbucks on site extra points!
