What visitors say
Took a walk down here on a beautiful warm Spring day. The exterior of the building is very well presented and it was possible to walk around the entire perimeter. I noticed an ample and very well maintained car parking area which assume belongs to the museum. I will take a tour inside the museum at a later (perhaps wetter) day. Having lived in Dunfermline for over 30 years I've finally decided I need to see some of the local history! So far I recommend all of Dunfermline's historical sites.

What a treasure this museum is. Time well spent to visit this. Learn how many things that have touched your life were influenced by Andrew Carnegie and his family and charitable foundations. It was very eye-opening. I spent maybe 60 to 90 minutes there. The opening hours are somewhat limited with the final entry at 15:20 on the days they are open.

Andrew Carnegie - what a man! Well presented history of one the greatest, clever and progressive philanthropist there has ever been. Well worth a visit. A beautiful building in a lovely state of preservation. Great access to the park and peacocks. Council run carpark is right outside of the museum and offers good value city parking. Easy walk into center too! If only the mega rich of today could consider his guidance: On Wealth and Philanthropy "The man who dies thus rich dies disgraced." (From The Gospel of Wealth) "No man can become rich without himself enriching others." "Surplus wealth is a sacred trust which its possessor is bound to administer in his life for the benefit of the community." (From The Gospel of Wealth) "There is no class so pitiably wretched as that which possesses money and nothing else."
