About Anand Lodge

Royal Tunbridge Wells is known for its Georgian architecture and surrounding Kent countryside, and Anand Lodge offers a straightforward base for exploring the town without the cost of a larger hotel. Set on Hastings Road, it's a small guesthouse with 8 rooms geared towards guests who want somewhere clean and no-fuss to sleep.

Rooms come with tea and coffee making facilities, and breakfast is available on site along with a bar for an evening drink. Free WiFi is provided throughout, and free on-site parking makes it easy for those arriving by car. The rooms themselves are simple but well kept, and the property is generally considered good value for the price.

Staff are often described as helpful, though some guests have found the lodge difficult to reach when trying to get in touch ahead of a stay. For visitors, the appeal lies in the surrounding area itself - the Georgian town centre and the wider Kent countryside are within easy reach, making Anand Lodge a practical option for those who mainly want a comfortable, affordable place to return to at the end of the day.

Spend 2 nights with my husband. We had a nice room, lots of light (3 windows). The room was very clean and the bed very confortable. It has tea and coffee in the bedroom, great as I love to have a cuppa before going to bed and when I wake up. Had a parking space for our car (£3 charge per night). Check in and check out was done smoothly. The only down about it was the wi-fi connection is bad and tv reception was non existent (didn’t bother us, and we don’t watch tv anyway). Overall a good experience.

Perfect for one night as I was cycling by and was drenched by the rain. The staff was super friendly and helped me with my bike and the check-in. Room was very tidy. :-)

Don't bother !! I had to postpone my stay due to my wife becoming unwell. I requested through booking.com a new date of which this Hotel failed to respond to. The original date then passed and they still refused to assist. I have since asked booking.com to refund me for a stay I never had, although I contacted them before hand to resolve, the Hotel have refused a refund. You cannot get through to them directly. Its a mobile number of which you get cut off with an automated message saying "please text". No point, they don't respond to your texts either. Absolutely appalling service. They obviously do not want customers. My friend had booked this hotel also, but due to my scenario has cancelled too.

Disgusting room and unsanitary conditions. The travel cot we had booked was supposed to be grey but was brown with dirt and grime. We asked three times for the room to be properly cleaned and all that was done was the bins being emptied. Staff struggled to understand basic requests, including providing the cot we had already booked. Our messages and requests were ignored, and we were forced to cut our stay short as I could not let my toddler sleep in such unhygienic conditions. The hotel is now falsely claiming we said we were happy with the service, which is completely untrue. They seem to think the room was cleaned thoroughly, I have added pictures to show what their level of cleanliness is. They are refusing any compensation or refund. Our Christmas family visit was ruined. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone!
