Simple 13-room pub hotel in Ryde's St Thomas Square, close to the town's shops, seafront and transport links to the rest of the Isle of Wight.

About The Crown Hotel

Ryde's shops, seafront and ferry connections are all within easy reach of The Crown Hotel, making it a straightforward base for exploring the Isle of Wight without needing a car once you've arrived. St Thomas Square puts guests in the centre of town, close to transport links that make onward trips around the island simple.

The hotel has 13 rooms, most with en suite bathrooms, kept plain and functional rather than styled up. Free WiFi and air conditioning are provided throughout, and free on-site parking is available for those who do bring a car. Downstairs there's a cosy pub and restaurant serving breakfast and meals, a bar, and a garden for sitting outside in fine weather.

The Crown also handles business services and meetings, and takes on weddings, so it sees a mix of guests beyond overnight stays. Pets are welcome, and luggage storage is on hand for those breaking up a journey around the island. It's a no-frills option suited to travellers who want a central Ryde location over polish.

Great visit. Main meals on offer and unbelievable value. Freshly cooked and really good portions. Food is provided by a franchise in the pub. Staff really helpful and polite helped out with gluten free options. Highly recommended. Thank you.

The facilities are good, however, the noise level is insane!!! Right beneath the room is a bar and the music came through the floor till the early morning!!!Even the ear plug doesn't work!!! If you want to live in a quiet hotel you should definitely avoid!!! (And there's some mysterious 🍃 🍃 🍃smell in the corridor!!!)

Visited today with my Uncle for a lunch. Great choice of menu. Even for me with my allergy to milk. I had Spaghetti Bolognese, I can highly recommend this and my Uncle demolished the scampi. Staff were very lovely, friendly and welcoming. A thumbs up from us.

We only had a drink and a meal here, but the food was excellent. There was plenty of choice, including a kid's menu for smaller appetites. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff couldn't do enough to help. They were very friendly, informative, and came to ask us afterwards if we'd enjoyed our visit - genuinely interested to find out if or how they could improve. We were impressed and will definitely eat there again when we return to the Island. The food was fabulous, the best we've had on the Island.
