About Yelfs Hotel

Union Street runs through the heart of Ryde, and it's here that Yelfs Hotel sits, with the Isle of Wight's coastline and views out towards the Solent adding to the setting. The town's shops, transport links and seafront are all within easy reach, making this a practical base for exploring the island.

Rooms are generally spacious, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms and accessible options available, plus a bridal suite for those booking the hotel as a wedding venue. That said, some rooms have shown signs of wear, including damp or mould, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the otherwise comfortable accommodation. The restaurant and bar are a strong point, particularly the Sunday roast, and breakfast, room service and packed lunches are all available. Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive.

Outside, there's a garden and outdoor seating area to make use of, along with free on-site parking, free WiFi and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay. The surrounding area suits an active break too, with cycling and walking routes, golf, fishing and watersports all nearby, plus pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Went for Sunday lunch today. Was very impressed with staff friendly courteous attentive as for the food, the pork roast was delicious and there was too much neither myself and my husband were able to finish. We did however have afters!!! Lemon drizzle was moist and very lemony very nice. I would recommend your restaurant to anyone and we are both hoping that you will be open on Christmas day as we look forward to enjoying your fare again. We will definitely be back before then. Thank you for a enjoyable experience 😊

Stayed in Yelfs hotel for 7 nights. We stayed in the family room and the room was really spacious. The young lady who served our breakfast was really pleasant and helpful. The hotel is not far from the Esplanade and easy access to all transport, situated half way between the seafront and town centre. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and consider this place to be a good value for money.

Room 14 had minor issues with the room, however overall not bad. Room 19 was an absolute nightmare with the tap leaking, ceiling bending, locks broken, dirty furniture, literally holes in the ceiling and walls, staining on the ceiling, to one of the staff members apparently it "won't effect my stay" 😂. Bathroom lights and ventilation not working, what a joke 🤬! However the staff was really nice. By the way I spent £1000 on 2 rooms, one for friends and one for family.

Went for Mother’s Day lunch, £30 for a roast consisting of frozen roasts potatoes, aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pudding and paxo stuffing, 1 single baby carrot and couple slabs of cold meat. The chef then lied to us about the roasties being frozen despite another chef confirming they were, a member of staff then came out in tears due to the same chef shouting at them. Then over an hour after we had finished eating we had to clear our own table away whilst the manager stood and watched! Happy Mother’s Day
