Mellerstain - Courtyard Cottage

Mellerstain House and its 200 acres of parkland form the setting for Courtyard Cottage, a converted property sleeping six across three bedrooms. The Italian terraced gardens offer views towards the Cheviot Hills and down to the lake; guests have access to walk the grounds. The cottage sits within reach of Kelso's shops and restaurants (3.5 miles), the castle and racecourse there, and Berwick's beaches. Edinburgh is a 35-mile drive if you want city attractions; fly fishing and several golf courses are available locally.

The layout spreads across two floors plus a lower ground level. Bedroom 1, on the lower ground, has two single beds and an ensuite with shower. The ground floor is open-plan—a living area with smart TV, a dining space, and a kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, bedroom 2 is a four-poster double with bath ensuite, and bedroom 3 has two singles with shower ensuite. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, along with oil heating and electricity; there is parking on site. One pet is welcome. The grounds include drops and a lake, so those visiting with young children should be aware.
