Homemade granola and breakfasts cooked to order set the tone at Burlington Berties, a 26-room hotel on St Nicholas Place in Sheringham, close to the Norfolk coast. Rooms are well kept and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms fitted with walk-in showers, and the beds are the kind that make you linger before heading out for the day.
Beyond the rooms, there's a restaurant and bar on site serving food that guests have singled out as a highlight, plus kids meals for family stays and drinks available in the room. Free WiFi, a garden, and luggage storage round out the practical side, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.
The staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, adding to the sense of a well-run, welcoming stopover. Sheringham itself offers plenty nearby, from golf and fishing to cycling and walking routes, watersports, and a choice of pubs and restaurants for evenings out.
What guests say
Had a great stay here. We were in The Old Vic room (small twin room). It was spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfortable with nice linen. There was a cupboard with a rail for hanging clothes with a full length mirror next to it. No decent sized drawer space but we didn't need it. Bathroom was modern and clean. The room description didnt mention a TV on the hotel website but there was one. The cooked breakfasts were great and we had a lovely service and welcome to the hotel by Sophie. It is a very short walk to Sheringham centre and there was loads of parking. We would definitely stay again!

I stayed one night for Bed, Breakfast and Dinner. The hotel has been thoroughly and lovingly restored. It has all its original charm but with high class finishes in the bedrooms, the bar and the dining room. The bed is super comfy. The walk in shower in the hot weather a delight and the food, first class. It is obvious the hotel housekeeping is to the highest standards. What makes it special though are the people. In modern times its too easy to use words cheaply. i would say Sally and Joanna have put their hearts and souls into the hotel and it shows not only in the premises but in the excellent service and care given. The team of Sophie and Matt are absolutely spot on. I would highly- yes highly recommend as stay without hesitation.

Excellent location, near to the beach and town yet lovely and quiet. Plenty of parking. Owners/staff friendly and helpful. Twin room (The Old Vic) was rather small and felt over priced for the cramped accommodation but was very clean and stylishly decorated as was the rest of the hotel. Good choices for breakfast using high quality food. Our only major gripe was the lack of a lounge for residents to use. We went at the beginning of June, and were told ‘lounge’ facilities in the summer consisted of the outside seating area. It was cold and raining so after dinner, we were obliged to sit in our small bedroom, perched on beds as there was only one chair. It seems counter productive and unwelcoming not to have a residents’ lounge available the whole year through.
