About The Two Lifeboats

The Two Lifeboats takes its name from its position near Sheringham's lifeboat station, just off the High Street, and the sea views from the restaurant are one of the main reasons people come back. This is a small hotel, with just six rooms, each en-suite, so it has the feel of a place run on personal attention rather than scale.

The restaurant is the heart of the place, serving hearty dishes such as fresh crab salad, fish and chips, and lasagna in generous portions, backed up by a bar, breakfast, and kids' meals. Some guests have found the food pricier than expected, though the cooking and the setting go some way to explain it. Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive. Outside there's a garden and outdoor seating, along with free WiFi, luggage storage, and meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay by the coast.

Free on-site parking makes it easy to arrive by car, and the location suits walkers and cyclists, with golf, fishing, and watersports all nearby, plus further pubs and restaurants close at hand for evenings out.

We came for lunch yesterday and had a wonderful experience. I had the liver and bacon, which was cooked perfectly and full of flavour, while my wife had the crab salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. A special mention goes to Henry, who was great to speak to and made us feel especially welcome with his friendly manner. The service was excellent from start to finish, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely meal and a great overall experience. We’ll definitely be coming back again and would highly recommend The Two Lifeboats to anyone looking for great food and fantastic service.

We stopped in for drinks, location excellent - venue is little run down and needs some tlc , tables very sticky which was put off for trying any food and speed of service was very pedestrian and they weren’t even busy, it was empty. Bar staff need training on customer management a queue formed for no reason and staff seemed very young and undertrained. The cocktails we ordered were poor. This place could be great with a little attention.

Brilliant experience. Great food, with a range of prices from cheap ( £8 ) to more luxury ( £35 ). Location was beautiful looking over the sea from the outside. Also included a heated outdoor porch area. Clean bathrooms and a brilliant selection of alcoholic beverages. I had scampi and chips with a side salad would recommend to anyone just perfect.

We were rather disappointed with our lunchtime visit. We ate in the main bar area and everything was so dirty. Tables, chairs and handrails were all sticky. There were cobwebs and dirt on inside of the window frames. The floor looked like it had not been washed or polished for a very long time. Food and drinks were OK. Service was very good. Such a shame because it clearly has a good reputation.

Diners like this restaurant's delicious and hearty food, especially the fresh crab salad, fish and chips, and lasagna, with generous portions. They also highlight the friendly and attentive staff, and the beautiful sea views.

Some reviews mention the food can be overpriced.
