Springfields is a substantial modern property within Wellesley Park, a gated development near Wells. Built with families and larger groups in mind, it offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms across two floors, accommodating ten guests. The ground floor opens into a generous living and dining space that flows into a fully fitted kitchen; a second sitting room with games and books provides quieter refuge. Bedrooms on the ground floor are both king-size with en-suite bathrooms, while upstairs two further bedrooms contain single beds—one room has four singles in total, with a pull-out pair available for younger children or additional flexibility.
The property includes wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels; heating is provided via gas central and underfloor systems. One dog is welcome and stays free, though it must be kept on a lead. You have private parking for two cars and a front garden with seating and a gas barbecue. Smoking is not permitted inside.
Guests have access to shared facilities within the development: a heated swimming pool (10m by 5m, open 08:00 to 20:00), sauna, steam room and gym, each with its own shower and changing areas. Wellesley Park lies a short distance from Wells itself, and the surrounding countryside is typical Somerset sheep farming country. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request.

We stayed at Springfields in Wellesley Park for a short break and it did exactly what we wanted – quiet, spacious and comfortable. The house itself is large, modern and practical. The open-plan living / kitchen / dining area works well for a group, and the big windows give you plenty of light and a decent outlook over the park. Bedrooms are a good size, all with their own bathrooms, so no fighting over showers. Kitchen is properly equipped rather than “holiday basic”, so cooking for a group is straightforward. The location is rural and peaceful, but you’re only a few minutes’ drive from Wells for shops, the cathedral and restaurants. Realistically, you do need a car – it’s not somewhere I’d choose without one. Access to the Wellesley Park facilities (pool, steam room, gym, tennis court, etc.) is a clear plus and makes it feel better value, especially if the weather is mixed and you want something to do on site. Overall: clean, quiet, well-equipped house in a secure, low-noise setting. Good base for Wells and the Mendips, and well suited to families or a group who want space rather than a cramped cottage.
