Fernwhisper Retreat

South Hams sits between Dartmoor and the coast, close enough to both for a day out but far enough to feel properly removed. Fernwhisper Retreat occupies its own corner of a 14-acre private estate, where guests share access to an indoor pool, outdoor pool, hot tub and tennis court. The main house also has a children's play area for families travelling with young ones.

The cottage itself is a three-bedroom mid-terrace with room for six. Downstairs, an open-plan living space connects to a rooftop terrace; upstairs are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking indoors. A cot is available if needed.

From here you can reach Dartmouth or Salcombe for waterside meals and harbour walks, or head inland to Dartmoor National Park. The beaches along this stretch of Devon are within easy reach. The estate's own facilities mean you don't need to go out every day—the pools and tennis court work well on rainy days or when you simply want to stay put.
