About DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton
Bracken Place sits within easy reach of Southampton's city centre, the cruise terminals and the roads leading out towards the New Forest, making DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton a practical base whether you're passing through by sea, road or simply visiting the city itself. The hotel spans five floors and holds 135 rooms, including family and accessible options, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and the usual comforts of a modern chain hotel, though the air conditioning doesn't always keep pace in warmer weather.

What guests say
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dinner menu is very limited unfortunately there's not a lot to choose from but what is on offer is to a very high standard. The breakfast continental is excellent lots to select from and excellent quality The rooms are very comfortable and the shower is very nice and powerful I'm unsure is this is unique to the room I was staying in (526) there is a very weird low hum that is transmitted through the bed and pillows I am a side sleeper so it's quite audible and does take a bit of getting used to. Apart from that I had a very pleasant stay and would be happy to use this hotel again.

Booked two rooms for my mother, daughter, wife and me for the evening prior to a cruise and couldn't have been happier with my selection. The check in process was flawless, rooms clean and comfortable, and both dinner and buffet breakfast in the restaurant outstanding. The staff throughout the property was universally pleasant and helpful. As a Diamond member, recieved complimentary room upgrades, drink vouchers and breakfast. If ever back in Southhampton, I won't think twice about returning, and would recommend to others without hesitation.

Great, welcoming staff and spacious rooms. It's my second stay here and I would return. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. The pizza was nice enough. The "peppercorn squid" was normal squid rings with pink peppercorns scattered on the accompanying lettuce. The "sorbet and fruit" - was sorbet with leftover fruit from the breakfast buffet. So I suppose its exactly what was stated but I expected a bit more. All perfectly edible but I wouldn't go back.

Good location to the port for embarking on a cruise. The staff at reception and throughout the hotel are very helpful and customer focused. Cask and Solent restaurant have some amazing staff - one in particular, Claire, was very helpful and provided a very high standard of service. She gave some great recommendations on the menu and ensured we were taken care of throughout the dining experience. I can recommend the Cesar salad with chicken and my family also enjoyed their meals including a chicken burger and katsu curry. We would definitely stay here again pre-cruise or another visit to Southampton.
