Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour

Had a great weekend at this hotel! The staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was well presented, clean and we had everything we needed. The pool was lovely! Just right for cooling off in this hot weather and not busy at all. The location is perfect. We were going to a gig at the Guildhall which was about a 10 minute walk away. In the other direction it wasn't far to walk to the marina where we enjoyed some amazing cocktails.

I spent my birthday here and it was great! The hotel made me feel really special with the cake, free drinks and discount voucher at the restaurant. The room was clean and big. The price that I have to pay is worth it considering the lovely buffet breakfast, the spa and pool facilities, and the overall experience staying here. Kudos to Leo's restaurant staff especiallh to Diogo as they were really friendly, attentive, and customer-oriented. The only thing that I did not like is the hotel receptionist. She talks really fast, doesn't genuinely care, very robotic. Customer facing should show compassion, effort to help and to be understood considering most will be tourists who doesn't have English as their first language. The food at Leo's restaurant needs improvement too as the steak lacks taste and was not tender.

We recently stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The location is definitely the hotel’s biggest selling point. It’s within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants, and other attractions, making it very convenient. However, the on-site parking was quite expensive. We stayed in Room 323, and the view was far from impressive. The room itself felt very dated, tired, and in desperate need of refurbishment. It was also noticeably dusty, which made it feel grubby rather than clean. A nice touch was the coffee machine in the room, but unfortunately it leaked overnight, and we woke up to find water all over the desk. We chose not to have breakfast or eat at the hotel because we felt the prices were too high. Instead, we walked to the nearby shops and cafés, which were only a few minutes away and offered plenty of options. Overall, the fantastic location is the main reason I’d recommend this hotel. However, the condition and cleanliness of the room, combined with the expensive parking, mean I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was delicious. Only issue we had ( that we told our room steward) was that when using the hand spray in the tub, the water went right along the edge of the tub and flowed onto the floor ( the curtain didn’t help this). So the floor got totally soaked. Everything rlse worked well Area was perfect for walking to restaurants and stores but far enough away to be quiet
