About Premier Inn Southampton City Centre
Premier Inn Southampton City Centre works well for travellers who just need a reliable base near the Six Dials area, whether that's a work trip, a visit to see family at university, or a short leisure break. With 172 rooms across seven floors, it's set up to handle steady turnover without losing the basics that matter.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the beds are a genuine strong point, though some rooms can run warm and maintenance is occasionally patchy, so it's worth mentioning if something's not quite right. Staff are consistently helpful, and the breakfast buffet is a highlight worth setting time aside for. The on-site restaurant covers evening meals too, and there's free Wi-Fi, drinks available in the room, a lift, and accessible rooms for those who need them. Reception operates around the clock, useful for late arrivals or early starts.
Chargeable parking is available on-site but limited, with Trinity Road Car Park a five-minute walk away as a backup. Golf, fishing, horse riding, entertainment and a nearby pub or bar give guests a few options beyond the hotel itself, making it a practical rather than flashy stopover in the city.

Me and my friend just got back today from staying at this hotel for my 20th birthday. We had an amazing time the staff were so friendly especially Sarah. She was extremely helpful and welcoming. Our question were answered to the top standard and she remained very professional. There was also another staff member that really stood out to us but we can’t remember her name, she had some beautiful piercings tho. She’s was so funny and extremely caring when we entered the restaurant. The room it’s self was pretty avarage, bathroom was clean bedding was fresh with clean towels. We did find a little dust on the window seal and a stain on the chair but nothing that would have had an effect on our stay. The only thing that bought our review down was the location of the hotel. Our room was right by a tunnel where it was obviously where people go for a smoke. But our room was constantly smelling like weed but the room was too hot to keep the windows shut. Also as the hotel was by a busy road near st Marys there was sirens all day and all night long - we were kept awake a little by them but you do kinda adjust to. Thank you for a good stay and for making my birthday that extra special and fun for me. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely shocking for the money we paid £158 for a room without air conditioning. Unbearable hot weather left us entering a room which resembled a furness. Alrhothere was a stand up fan in the room all it was doing was circulating hot air everywhere. No water readily available in reception as it had run out and hadn't been replaced. Was told to go to bar to ask for water. We were given two glasses of tap water which was warm! After a 2 hour flight and taxi journey to arrive at this place was not ideal. Unworkable automated check in system which doesn't work so staff had to override system. Signs up in reception asking you not to open windows as no air conditioning available. There was however conveniently air conditioning in the bar and dining area. When we questioned a member of staff she commented that it is a cheap hotel so we should expect this. Not been able to sleep due to excessive heat.

We stayed at the hotel one night last night. Room is very nice with a good size bath and a comfortable bed. There is on site parking which has to be paid for. The hotel state the rooms are not air conditioned and provide a fan and a portable radiator. Having looked at the room more closely I note that air conditioning is fitted but decommissioned with a blanking plate where the control unit would be on the wall. Having paid a non budget price for the room I wonder why the aircon is not working. A fan is not much help when the room is sweltering.
