What diners say
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants, and the recent renovation has made it even better. The restaurant is clean, stylish, and has a lovely traditional Chinese atmosphere that’s perfect for photos. The food is just as consistently delicious as before. The highlight for us was the Chongqing spicy crispy chicken—crispy, fragrant, and packed with flavour. Every dish was generous in portion and tasted great. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Chinese food.

🥢 Mala Dry Hotpot – Fragrant, spicy, and seriously addictive. Must-try. 🍖 Capital Spare Ribs – Slightly dry but still super tasty. 🌶️ Chicken with Chilli Sauce – Tender, smooth chicken with mouth-watering flavour. 🥚 Tofu with Salted Egg Yolk – Silky tofu (wish the salted egg flavour was stronger though!). 🍜 Chicken Chow Mein – Huge portion and absolutely delicious.

Tried this Chinese restaurant near Tower Bridge and it honestly exceeded expectations — a proper hidden gem. We started with the pepper prawns, which were juicy, spicy, and packed with flavour. The salt & pepper squid was light, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. Dumplings were soft and juicy, and the spring rolls had that proper golden crunch you want. For mains, everything hit. The Singapore rice was fragrant and spicy, the egg fried rice was fluffy and well seasoned, the sweet & sour chicken was crispy with a perfectly balanced sauce, and the kung po chicken with nuts was bold, savoury, and full of texture. Every dish was cooked well, full of flavour, and clearly done with care. Definitely worth a visit if you’re around the area and love good Chinese food. Nice vibe to start. Staff were nice and friendly. We had the vegetables in Oyster Sauce, plain chow mein, crispy spicy rabbit and pig feet in secret sauce. Food was very good. Came as it was ready, which meant the veg came first and the rabbit last. It’s a way but I learned I should pace myself!! :-) Quite large portions. Oyster sauce was very good. Chow mein was the fine noodle so think vermicelli. The pig feet were good if what you want is the connective tissues. Not much pork meat as such but if you like trotters they were perfect. The sauce was well balanced and very tasty. Rabbit was very spicy. I wanted fried chicken and this hit all those notes and 1000 more besides. Really delicious. Similar base flavour to the trotters but sweeter and hot. Did I mention it had chillies and was hot? It was hot. Also delicious. Can’t wait to come back!! Washed down with the 56% Chinese “rice wine”. Cleans the palate. Also cleanses the brain! Recommend.
