What diners say
Had my first experience at Roast For our anniversary dinner while on our trip in London. We had a great experience. From the lovely decor, to the yummy drinks to the delish food and the lovely Staff as well as the view from the table we had looking over a part of the Borough Market. 😍 We had a lovely waiter named James. He recommend another fantastic cocktail bar called Cahoots a few steps away to check out afterwards which didn’t disappoint! I will definitely return to Roast in the near Future 😁

The Roast was absolutely beautiful! This location overlooks the Borough Market and it is stunning. You arrive into a flowery hall and bar area. We had a reservation for Sunday Roast and were seated immediately. This is white table cloth service, many courses. Cocktails were Delicious. They are accommodating with allergies. There are gluten free and dairy free choices. They do have a kiddie menu but they are strict that it’s only for young kids. My teenagers had to order from the regular menu which was a lot of food. Just beautiful

I have always loved this restaurant and have dined here before with a genuinely positive experience, which makes this visit all the more disappointing. Unfortunately, the service yesterday was noticeably below the standard I've come to expect. Both servers came across as cold and unwelcoming, and we felt largely overlooked throughout our meal. We repeatedly heard neighbouring tables being asked how their food was, offered bread for the table, and asked if they would like more drinks. My mother and I weren't offered any of these courtesies. I don't like to make assumptions, and as a Black British-born woman I hesitate to raise the issue of race unless I genuinely feel compelled to. However, it was difficult not to notice the clear difference in the level of attention we received compared with other diners, and I honestly don't know how else to make sense of the experience. We also waited a long time for the dessert menu, and after receiving it were left for another 10 minutes while servers repeatedly walked past us attending to other tables. Eventually, I had simply had enough and asked for the bill instead of ordering dessert. The food was enjoyable, which is why this was so disappointing. I hope this was an isolated incident, as I've had good experiences here before, but no guest should leave feeling overlooked or less valued than those around them.

Tasty food and lovely atmosphere. The dining room is brightly lit with flowers near the entrance and the ceiling which looks great. Note that the restaurant is a bit tricky to find as you need to go into the Borough Market. Once you’re in the restaurant, you have a great view of the market

Diners like this restaurant's delicious food, especially the beef Wellington, and appreciate the accommodating options for dietary requirements, including halal and vegetarian menus. They also highlight the beautiful decor and festive atmosphere, making it a great spot for special occasions.
Some reviews mention the service can be inattentive.
