Gable Cottage

Walk through the door of Gable Cottage and you step into a ground-floor living room with patio doors opening onto the garden—a wood burner keeps things warm, and a dining room connects through. The kitchen has everything needed to cook properly: electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a four-poster double and one with two singles, plus a bathroom with bath and shower. The garden is enclosed with patio seating, and there is parking for one car on site.

Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; the wood burner comes with an initial fuel supply. The cottage is in Onecote, a hamlet in the south of the Peak District, and accepts one dog. No smoking inside. A pub sits within walking distance, and Leek is seven miles away for shops and restaurants. The moorland around here is crossed by marked footpaths, and the Manifold Trail—which has cycle hire—lies five miles off. Alton Towers is ten miles away; Chatsworth House, Trentham Gardens and other major attractions are within forty-five minutes' drive.
