Garden Cottage

Walking straight from Garden Cottage puts you into countryside threaded by the River Hamps and the Manifold Valley—routes that draw people to this part of Staffordshire year after year. The village has a family pub a short walk away. Leek, 7 miles off, trades in antiques and independent shops. Cycle hire sits 4 miles away on the Manifold Trail; golf is the same distance. Alton Towers, the Churnet Valley Steam Railway, Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest all fall within 15 miles, making this a useful base if you're mixing outdoor time with a few day trips.

The cottage has two bedrooms—one kingsize, one with two singles—and a bathroom with shower over bath, sleeping four. Downstairs, the living room contains a TV and woodburner; the kitchen/dining room is fitted with electric cooking, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi come as standard. A small patio with garden furniture overlooks the grounds, and you have private parking for one car. No smoking inside. One dog is welcome.
