Harvey Gate Farm - The Stables

Staffordshire Moorlands

Photo: Google Maps

Harvey Gate Farm – The Stables is a converted stone building in the River Hamps valley, positioned on working farmland within reach of the Peak District National Park. The location sits back from the main road along a farm track, offering genuine seclusion yet practical access to attractions: Froghall Wharf, Foxfield Steam Railway and Alton Towers lie within a 10-minute drive, while Sudbury, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are 17 miles away.

Inside, the ground floor holds an open-plan living space with a television, DVD and CD player, dining area, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking – electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and full-size fridge. Upstairs, a single bedroom contains a four-poster double bed (4ft 6in), with an ensuite shower and toilet. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. Outside, a private patio with decking and seating overlooks the grounds; there is also parking for one car and a barbecue area. The property is for two people only, and smoking is not permitted. Note that the shared grounds contain two unfenced water troughs.

The farm sits amid countryside crossed by local footpaths, making it a natural base for walkers. The nearest pub is 2 miles away and shops 4 miles distant.
