Couples and small families will find Crianlarich Retreats – Riverbank Cottage fits well for a few days or longer. The layout is simple: two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles), a bathroom, and a generous open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that opens onto a terrace. The entire property sits on the ground floor. Large windows frame the River Lochay, which runs directly past the cottage, and underfloor heating keeps things warm year-round. One dog is welcome to come along.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals – electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided. Outside, a hot tub for four sits near the water's edge, looking out over the river. There is parking for two cars and a sitting area in the back garden. The cottage is non-smoking.
Killin village is close by, with cafés, pubs and shops. The Falls of Dochart – where the river drops dramatically through the village centre – draws visitors year-round. Loch Tay, a short drive away, has paddleboarding and kayaking, or you can simply walk the shore. The surrounding hills and glens are open for exploring on foot.
